The original Lodge and Rock Cabins at Oak Beach in Lake Brownwood are over 100 years old. In 2019, the property changed hands and our team has worked tirelessly to maintain the integrity of the original buildings, while improving and maintaining the grounds to make your experience more memorable.

Our goal is to provide a beautiful, relaxing, comfortable venue on Lake Brownwood where you can host your family reunion, family holiday gathering, baby/wedding showers, company meeting, team-building event, camps, retreats or any other type of special event.

The Oak Beach RV Park is adjacent to the Lodge and Bunkhouse, providing extra lodging space right on Lake Brownwood. You can enjoy the shade of the large oak trees during the warmth of the day and then take in a breathtaking sunset as you relax by lake in the evening.
LAKE BROWNWOOD
Lake Brownwood, in Brown County, Texas, is a reservoir located on Jim Ned Creek and Pecan Bayou and covers about 7300 surface acres, and features two islands located in the northern half of the lake - Goat Island and McCarthy Island. In 1932, the water district obtained the land necessary to build a dam, impounding the waters of Pecan Bayou at the connecting point at Jim New Creek. Skeptics said it would take years to fill the reservoir, but a record-breaking rainfall in 1933 caused flooding that filled it completely in days, creating Lake Brownwood! Shortly after, the town of Lake Brownwood was formed, and the Texas State Parks Board acquired land to create the Lake Brownwood State Park, which covers 538 acres.

Lake Brownwood State Park sits on the shores of Lake Brownwood and offers many outdoor activities for the whole family! There are close to six miles of scenic trails for walking and hiking, and the Nopales Ridge Trail is open to biking. Along the trails, watch for wildlife and plants or do some bird watching; you can even search for geocaches! There is also a softball field and a volleyball court if you are more sports minded.
Of course, the lake is always beckoning! Enjoy reeling in a fish from the shore or venture out on the boat. The State Park has fishing gear to loan out if you didn't bring your own gear. And if fishing isn't your style, bring the jet skis, water skis, or paddle boat, or maybe just go for a swim. After a hard day of play, hang around to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the lake. There is something for everyone at Lake Brownwood State Park!
