welcome to Oak beach lodge at lake Brownwood

There's a lot of history in this old Lodge at Oak Beach with its rock walls and big old doors.  So much character and rustic charm, yet all of the modern amenities you would expect to help make your special day one to remember!

Nestled on the shores of Lake Brownwood just across the bridge, Oak Beach Retreat Center is our own little piece of nature tucked away in the big oak trees. Oak Beach sits on just over 10 acres and gives you plenty of space to spread out and enjoy all of the amenities that we have to offer. We are off the beaten path yet close enough to the city to enjoy a night out at one of our local restaurants or pick up supplies that you may have missed.

Visit Brownwood!

Speaking of history, take the short drive to Brownwood for some shopping or sightseeing in the Historic Downtown area.

Take the Old Brownwood Historical Walk, starting and ending at the Brown County Museum of History. This brief twelve-block walk will introduce you to the historical section of Brownwood with its rich history. The trail is laid out for you and numbered to help you navigate and understand the history of our community. Just follow the numbers in order and the photos of the buildings will help you stay on track.

After you tour the downtown area, you might want to check out the Martin & Frances Lehnis Railroad Museum, which is located just across the street from the historic Brownwood Santa Fe Depot. The museum also serves as the Brownwood Visitor Center. The museum exhibits include a wide variety of railroad equipment and memorabilia, photos and railroad history, as well as running model trains of every size.  There is also a Mini-Train that operates on Saturdays, weather permitting, and a Children's Play Area which offers hands-on fun for kids.

There are plenty of things to do in Brownwood and the surrounding areas.
